Hunt Visuals is putting a team together for a full production day at the O2 Indigo. Panels running all day on a main stage, a catwalk segment, activations outside and a party in the same room afterwards.
Camera, photography, sound, editing and FPV. Nothing is locked in yet, I am mainly seeing who is around and who fancies it.
Worth saying up front: none of this is confirmed yet. The running order is still moving, the final scope is not signed off, and the numbers will shift.
So treat everything below as what we think it will probably look like, not a spec. I would rather show you the real picture now than a tidy one that changes in a month.
A ticketed industry event at the O2 Indigo. Panels and fireside chats on the main stage from morning through to early evening, a catwalk segment in the afternoon once the room gets rearranged, food and activations outside, then a party in the same space.
Several brands launch on the day and a number of premium brand partners are involved, so a lot of the coverage has to work for more than one owner. That is the bit that makes it different from a normal event shoot.
Same moment, framed more than once, so it can live in more than one place without looking recycled. That is the thinking behind most of the decisions on the day.
Downstairs. Panels, fireside chats and the catwalk all happen here.
Has a sightline down onto the main stage. That elevated angle is free coverage.
Food and activations at the entrance. Contained, not spread across a site.
Same room, reset once the main day wraps. Smaller crowd, later on.
Timings firm up after the site visit in September. It is a long day, so expect the calls to be staggered rather than everyone doing the full stretch.
Still being worked out with the client, so this is the likely shape rather than a fixed list. It gives you an idea of what your footage ends up being cut into.
Likely every panel and fireside chat recorded end to end, multicam, with clean audio off the desk.
A decent run of vertical cuts pulled from the panels afterwards, which is why the long form needs to be complete.
A hero piece for the organisers, and something to sell next year's edition with.
Its own sequence, with its own camera positions, because the room changes for it.
Individual partners will likely each want their own edit for their own channels. Briefed ahead of the day.
Across the whole day. Stage, catwalk, crowd, outside and the party.
FPV, if we get the licensed window. Warm up run, venue reveal and the outdoor bits.
Some of it cut and out while the event is still running. That is what the editors on site are for.
Still working out the exact shape, so no fixed numbers yet. Here is the thinking on each area and roughly where I think it lands.
Locked and rolling end to end through every panel. One wide, one tighter on whoever is speaking, ideally a third for a cross angle so the edit has somewhere to cut. This is the source material for everything short, so it needs to be clean and complete.
Shooting 9:16 native. Reactions, crowd, b-roll, the VIP floor and that elevated angle looking down onto the stage. Chasing the moments the locked cameras cannot see.
Stills across the whole day. Stage, catwalk, crowd, outdoor activations and the party. Its own discipline, not something a camera op picks up on the side.
Cutting while the event is still happening, so things can go out the same day rather than a week later. You would be set up in a room on site working off cards as they come in. Fast, calm, good at turning something around without agonising over it.
Split off the front of house desk into a recorder, radio mics on the key speakers, backup audio for a recording happening on site. Audio is usually what ruins an event edit, so I would rather someone owned it properly.
Custom FPV flown through goggles. The warm up run, a venue reveal, the outdoor activations. We are working on a licensed window with the venue. Bring your own spotter if you normally fly with one.
Coverage carries on into the evening once the main day wraps. Might be some of the day team staying on, might be someone fresh coming in later. Depends who wants what, so tell me your preference.
If you shoot and you also fly, or you shoot and you can cut, or you shoot and you know your way round a sound desk, say so. Makes it much easier to build the team around you.
You get a brief before the day rather than on the day. Your area, your positions, your settings and what you are covering, all sorted in advance so nobody is stood around wondering what to point at.
Settings get matched across every body, same profile and frame rate, so the edit is not a nightmare and the editors on site can actually work. I will send that round beforehand.
Worth framing with a 9:16 crop in mind, since a lot of this ends up vertical.
There is a site visit at the Indigo in September. If you are leading an area and want to see the room first, come along.
If it sounds like your kind of day, drop me a message. No formal process, I am really just trying to get a sense of who is around before the date gets close.
