Hunt Visuals is crewing up for a run of London events between September and November. The big one is a full day at the O2 Indigo with a stage, a catwalk, panels all day and a VIP after party. I need camera ops, a photographer, sound, a DIT and an FPV pilot.
If that sounds like your kind of day, read on and tell me you are in.
Same client group across all three. One is a huge production day, one is a lean evening, one is a half day. You do not have to want all three. Tell me which ones you are free for.
A full day conference and brand launch at the O2 Indigo. Main stage downstairs running panels and fireside chats all day, a VIP floor above with a sightline down onto the stage, outdoor activations and a food court, and a catwalk segment in the afternoon once the room gets rearranged.
A podcast gets recorded on site. There is a warm-up run outside before doors. Then a VIP after party for around 200 people in the same space once the main day ends.
An intimate canapés and drinks event in a rooftop venue. Notable faces in the room. The main job is one clean piece to camera filmed in a quiet corner early in the night, then composed coverage of the room as it fills up.
Small and controlled rather than run-and-gun. Two people, one lead and one second shooter doing stills as well.
A morning coffee DJ set at a brand's London event space. Early call, done by lunch. Short-form social cuts of the set plus a stills bank.
Nothing is locked on this one yet. Date and scope still moving, so treat it as a maybe rather than a booking. Worth flagging if you want it.
Eleven on the day including me. I am not on a camera, I am running the floor. Numbers may shift slightly once the full event deck lands, but this is the shape of it.
| Role | What you are actually doing |
|---|---|
| Main stage camera2 needed | One locked wide, one mid and tight on speakers. Both roll end to end through every panel and never stop mid-session. This is the source material everything short gets cut from, so it has to be clean and it has to be complete. |
| Roaming vertical2 needed | Shooting 9:16 native. Reactions, crowd, b-roll, the VIP floor and the elevated angle down onto the stage. You are looking for the moments the locked cameras cannot see. |
| Sponsor unit1 needed | Dedicated to five premium sponsors. Each one has their own brief and their own people to follow. You get the brief in advance and you work to it. Needs someone organised who can hold five agendas in their head at once. |
| Event photographer1 needed | Stills across the whole day plus a separate photo bank for a collab piece promoting next year's edition. Stage, catwalk, crowd, outdoor activations, after party. |
| Sound lead1 needed | Split off the front of house desk into a recorder, radio mics on key speakers, backup audio for the podcast recording. Audio is what kills event edits, so this is not a side job for a camera op. |
| DIT / data wrangler1 needed | Card offloads every two hours, two copies, signed off. Nobody leaves the building until you say the day is backed up twice. Unglamorous and the single most important role on the list. |
| FPV pilot1 needed | Custom FPV flown through goggles. Warm-up run outside, venue reveal, outdoor activations. Licensed and insured, working inside a supervised window we are arranging with the venue. Bring your own spotter. |
| After party op1 fresh | Comes in late and covers the VIP party so nobody is on a camera for fifteen hours straight. Later call, later finish. |
Doubling up is fine. If you shoot and you also fly FPV, or you shoot and you can run sound properly, say so. It makes you easier to book.
Long day. I am splitting the calls so nobody burns out, but go in expecting a proper one. Exact timings firm up after the site visit.
You get your brief before the day, not on the day. You know your role, your positions, your settings and what you are responsible for delivering before you set foot in the building.
Everything matches. Same picture profile, same frame rates, same codec across every body so the edit is not a nightmare. I will send that out beforehand and I do check.
Frame everything knowing it has to survive a 9:16 crop as well as 16:9. Almost all of this ends up as short form.
There is a site visit at the Indigo on Sunday 13 September. If you are leading a position I would rather you saw the room first, so say if you want to come.
If it is, send me a message. Takes two minutes and there is no formal process. I am mainly trying to lock availability early so I can build the team properly rather than scrambling in October.
